Bolton’s Most Prestigious Office Building reaches 100% let

There has been a major boost to Bolton’s economy this week as 60,000 sq ft of commercial Grade A office space reaches 100% occupancy, bringing up to 800 jobs into the town centre.

Gordon Moon Properties, developers of the office building at 120 Bark Street, which is the highest specification of office building within the town centre and spread over seven floors, have just completed the last major letting.

The Post Office has taken the final 12,500 sq ft space remaining at the multi million pound development, which has already attracted law firms Asons (17,500 sq ft) and Keoghs (18,000 sq ft) as well as serviced office specialists Regus (12,000 sq ft).

James Gordon, of Gordon Moon Properties, said: “Demand for high quality office space in the town centre is on the increase and filling Bark Street with high end occupiers shows the attraction of Bolton to the professional office market. This is important because it will be the catalyst for improvements to the high street and leisure offer, keeping people in the town rather than doing their shopping and business elsewhere.”

CBRE and Lamb & Swift acted on behalf of Gordon Moon Properties and the North West office of property consultants Sanderson Weatherall in Manchester acted on behalf of The Post Office.

David Murray, partner at Sanderson Weatherall in Manchester, said: “The fact that the letting to Post Office Ltd means the building is fully occupied is indicative of a wider and encouraging trend in commercial property deals in the North West of England as the market shows signs of returning to life after years of largely subdued activity.”
